Weighted Border Options
Some artists like to use what’s called a “weighted” border. Commonly, two or three sides will have equal borders while the remaining side(s) will be wider, or have more weight. For example, as illustrated below, the image has a two-inch border along the top and sides and a four-inch border on the bottom. This weighted area is typically used by the artist to apply a signature and/or limited edition numbering to the artwork.
