Plexi Face-Mount

Plexi Face-Mount Prints

The sharpest focus and the most brilliant color we make. Your print is mounted behind clear acrylic, so the image appears to float in glass, with depth and shine no paper print can match.

What it is

The Image Behind the Glass

A face-mount starts with a print on photo or metallic paper. The front of the print is bonded to the back of a sheet of clear acrylic, so you look at the image through the plexi. Light passes through the acrylic, hits the print and comes back out, which gives face-mounted pieces their depth and brilliance.

Behind the print we add an aluminum composite backing for rigidity and hanging, or leave it off for pieces that will be framed.

Options

Three Builds

¼″ Plexi, No Backing

The acrylic and the print alone. For pieces that will be framed or set in a floater. Sizes up to 24 × 20 inches.

⅛″ Plexi with Aluminum Backing

Thinner acrylic bonded to an aluminum composite panel. Rigid, lighter and the most economical of the backed options. Sizes up to 60 × 40 inches.

¼″ Plexi with Aluminum Backing

The thickest, most substantial build, with the greatest sense of depth. Sizes up to 60 × 40 inches.

All three are available with a brushed silver reveal border, like our metal prints. Price it in the calculator →

Questions People Ask Us

Images with saturated color, deep blacks or a lot of light in them: water, night cityscapes, neon, glass, metallic subjects. Soft, matte-looking images are usually better on paper or canvas.
Acrylic is harder than you’d think, but it isn’t glass. Clean it with a soft microfiber cloth and plain water, and keep it away from paper towels and ammonia cleaners.
Yes. The no-backing build is made for framing, and backed pieces can go in a floater frame. See Custom Framing.
